Chapter 6: Casting the Burden

I cast this burden on the Christ within and I go free.

Continually “making believe,” impresses the subconscious. if one makes believe he is rich, and makes believe he is successful, “in due time he will reap.”

Fear is misdirected energy and must be redirected, or transmitted into Faith.

In chapter 6, we learn that we will find peace and the answer to our prayer if we are able to lift up our troubles to God. In doing so we should act as if we have already received what we have asked, casting all fears and doubts aside.

Incidentally, I was watching an old episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show where they were talking about exciting scientific evidence of the power of prayer. The guest doctor said that based on their experiments, open-ended prayers seemed to generate favorable answers. By open-ended prayer it means not bargaining for what you want through prayer, but  by believing that “His will be done” and that whatever the outcome is, it will always be for the best.

I have to say my prayers have changed as I got older. I used to ask for very materialistic things, but now at the top of my list is the health and well-being of my family and friends. I also pray for my health and well-being so that I can continue to be with my loved ones, especially my husband and daughter. However, I don’t pray as much as I used to, and this is one aspect of my life I need to improve on. There is a certain peace and clarity that comes when you pray solemnly. Hope springs when you are able to cast your burden and believe that everything will be taken cared of.

How about you, what do you pray for?
